Programs
Throughline, for the people who shoot it and the people who teach it.
Throughline is a Mac app for field footage. These programs give students, teachers, nonprofits, newsrooms, firms and freelancers a way in, and every application is read by a person.

How we check
We check your school or work address and one public page that names you. We do not ask for ID and we use no verification service. We keep what you send for 45 days if we decline, and for the length of your licence if we accept.
How to apply
Choose a program above. Each page has its own short form, and we reply within two business days from support@throughlinepost.com.
Private by default
Throughline runs on your Mac. Transcription runs on your machine and nothing is uploaded; anything that would leave the Mac needs your explicit consent. It works offline and checks its licence in every 30 days. Activation sends the licence key, the app version, the chip model and a random install id, and nothing about you or your files.
Honest limits
- Programs are capped. We keep them small enough that every licence holder still gets a reply within 24 hours when something breaks. Applications are read by a person, so a busy week can be slow.
- Free licences are for the stated use. We can end one that is resold or shared beyond its holder.
- Recovery covers the cameras we list. The supported cameras and formats are on the recovery pages. It is not a fix for any damaged video.
- Mac only. macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon. It needs to reach the internet once every 30 days to check its licence.
- The free trial is separate and unchanged. Anyone can start it without applying.

Questions
Is this the free trial?
No. The trial is open to everyone: 14 days, no card, every feature twice, exports cover the first 60 seconds and video is a 720p proof with an overlay. Programs are separate licences for a stated use.
Why are programs capped?
So that every licence holder still gets a reply within 24 hours when something breaks.
Do I pay anything?
Education, nonprofit and newsroom licences cost nothing and need no card. Firms pay the normal subscription, and the freelancer code is a discount on it.
Can I have more than one?
One program licence per person at a time.
What do you store?
What you type into the form, the date and your country. Not your IP address. We keep it for 45 days if we decline, and for the length of your licence if we accept.
What if I am not accepted?
We tell you, and the 14-day free trial is still open to you.
